1. This is to inform our esteemed military retirees that the March 2021 pensions of pensioners on MPB payroll were paid to military retirees? respective bank accounts nationwide today? 27 March 2021. Furthermore, the gratuities and pension arrears of retirees whose records were forwarded to MPB by Service Headquarters and whose biometrics have been captured at the Board in the First Quarter of 2021 (January ? March) have all been paid. This group includes:
a. Regular Recruit Intakes of NA Course 21, Stream A, with an effective discharge date of 10 January 2021.
b. Regular Recruit Intakes of NA Course 21, Stream B, with an effective discharge date of 10 January 2021.
c. Voluntary Discharged NA personnel in the First and Second Quarters of 2020 with an effective discharge date of 3 January 2021.
2. Similarly, gratuities and arrears of pensions of retired officers whose documents were received and have appeared for biometric capturing at the Board, on or before 15 March 2021 have all been fully paid. Likewise, the Board has paid the death benefits of deceased military personnel, whose genuine NOKs had appeared and have been cleared between 26 February and 20 March 2021 by the MPB’s NOK Screening Committee, have all been fully paid.
3. The Board also wishes to use this medium to appreciate well-meaning retirees and the entire veteran community for their show of solidarity on the recent malicious and damaging false allegation by an online news medium. Even though the publisher of the said misinformation had deleted the story from its website, efforts are ongoing to ensure that those behind the publication are brought to the book.
4. Accordingly, the Board wants to assure retirees, NOKs, and well-meaning Nigerians that the Board remains resolute and will do everything to sustain the prompt payment of all entitlements of military retirees or their NOKs in a transparent and accountable manner and to uphold principles of fairness and service to humanity in the discharge of the Board’s mandate.
